How many of you use the flash on your camera and realize that your images looks plain. flat and boring? Well in this video I give you a few tips to give your images some more dimension when using the flash.

We simply get out of the auto setting where the camera always sets the flash to 1/60th of a second and instead shoot it in manual.

    @shess0501 I know …
    @shess0501 I know that question wasnt 4 me, what u should do so you dont waste any time trying and takin extra shoots, one way to do it : meter ur scene in ur camera to be right on then underexpose 1/3 of stop ( dosnt have to be exactly 1/3 ) then setpup ur flash to TTL. Now your flash with fill that underexposed 1/3 of stop and you u still have that ambient light in the back :) hope that was helpful :)

  24. tarunactivity says:

    How exactly does …
    How exactly does setting ISO 4000 on a D3 allow ambient light. One would assume that a low ISO would warrant a longer shutter right?

    Or was that just the ISO used to overcome not using the flash?
